Neill Blomkamp Updates Status of ROBOCOP RETURNS Scrip & Promises Original ROBOCOP Suit

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any updates on Neill Blomkamp’s RoboCop sequel/reboot. But all that changed over the weekend when the Chappie/District 9 filmmaker updated fans on the status of the script. Here’s his response on Twitter:
“Script is being written. Going well! Imagine watching Verhoeven do a follow-up film.”
Paul Verhoeven is, of course, the director of the original RoboCop, so this bodes extremely well. It’s also exciting knowing that original RoboCop scribes Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner are involved.

As for whether or not the new RoboCop suit will differ from the original–not a chance!
