Crack the skye is an excellent album. They just get better and better. Being on a bigger label no doubt helps too.
I don't think too many people talk about music in terms of albums anymore. It's all about the MP3 which I have never gotten into. |

I agree about the mp3. I have downloaded songs before, but there is something missing just having a digital file. I guess I like having something to hold and look at. The only thing that is a definitely plus is I can carry around 500 songs with me on my 2G Sansa player and 95% of those have been ripped from my cd collection. Yeah, I'm too lame to have an ipod.
I have a larger cd collection than anyone that I know, so everybody just takes things from me that they haven't illegally downloaded.
Track 1 from Crack the Skye is my favorite song from any of their albums. |

Mastodon is nothing short of a great friggin band.
the new album is amazing too! slowly, but surely it is becoming my favorite release by them....Leviathan is hard to top though!

I just saw Mastodon last night and it was dope.
cool video screen on this tour and the entire new album live...sweet.
they also played Megalodon and March Of The Fire Ants...also sweet.
