Updates on New TOOL Album Come from Maynard Himself; Contradicts Danny Carey

At the recent NAMM Conference in Southern California, Tool drummer Danny Carey was recorded telling a fan that the band’s first album in 13 years would be dropping this April. When Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan refuted Carey’s claim, many wondered if the eccentric singer was merely trolling his fans, something he seems to relish doing.
Unfortunately, Keenan tweeted out an official statement that makes it very clear that Carey’s estimated release date was ridiculously optimistic.
Update- Midway through mixing. Most likely be a few recalls. Then some arguing. Then Mastering, Artwork, Video, Special Packaging, etc. Best Ballpark Guess- Release date somewhere between Mid May and Mid July. While it’s a bummer to hear that Tool’s upcoming album will be released later than expected, it’s a relatively short delay all things considered. We’ve waited 13 years, we can wait three more months. While we wait, take a stroll down Memory Lane with the video for “Sober” from Undertow (1993).
