Lots of DVD news to catch you up on, so we’ll start with the shit you probably don’t care about first…
Davis DVD got word that Lionsgate will be releasing Captivity (review), you remember “the film they didn’t want you to see (cause it sucked)”, on October 30th, just in time to buy it for the person on your Halloween list you really don’t like. There will be R-rated and Unrated versions available (of course) with the usual featurettes and crap. Unfortunately the real reason to pick it up, to see footage from the bondage party After Dark pres Courtney Solomon held in LA, isn’t mentioned in the features… but you can check out some we shot right here!
A week prior (specifically October 23rd), MGM will be throwing the Kevin Costner thriller Mr. Brooks on DVD. Lots of features about serial killers and such will take up all that empty virtual space on this one.
Now for the good stuff! MGM has also announced the final specs for both From Beyond: The Director’s Cut and Return of the Living Dead: Collector’s Edition, both of which will street September 11th. Check ‘em out:

Still no mention of a Gordon commentary, which is a damn shame since he’s the prime person we’d obviously love to hear chat up the film. But I guess we’ll take it since the movie is finally coming to DVD!

Not a bad lineup, all things considered; too bad the covers for both are so goddamn shitty, eh?
