Exclusive: Composer Aldo Shllaku Uses Gunshots For DOWNRANGE Score

Last week, Ryuhei Kitamura’s latest film Downrange hit the streaming website Shudder where horror fans can see a group of young adults get pinned down by a nameless, faceless sniper intent on ending each of their lives.

Today, we’ve got something a little different to offer as we want to take you behind-the-scenes to meet composer Aldo Shllaku as he and director Kitamura go into the music of the film. The two talk about the fascinating ways that guns and the title of the movie itself played in how the score was composed. While this is certainly fascinating from a filmmaking perspective, I daresay that anyone will find this interesting.

If you want to order the original soundtrack, you can do so on iTunes, Amazon, or Google Play.

Six college students are carpooling cross-country when one of their tires blows out on a desolate stretch of country road. Getting out to fix the flat, they quickly discover that this was no accident. The tire was shot out. With their vehicle incapacitated, the group is pinned down and mercilessly attacked by an unseen assailant as they desperately attempt to find a way to escape.

Downrange stars Kelly Connaire, Stephanie Pearson (Insidious: Chapter 2), Rod Hernandez-Farella, Anthony Kirlew, Alexa Yeames (The Originals), and Jason Tobias (Notorious).
