One of the most disturbing books I have ever read.
I have an ache to read it again, but God damn it... I'm apprehensive to do so...it's that frightening.
I highly recommend it.
Synopsis? Basically - the toxic waste monster comes to town.
Evolution from toxic mutations...filled with hopelessness and scenarios that will stick to you for a long long time.
The "toddler bouilliabasse" is one that comes to ind.
I'm purposly not telling too much about this, but let me say, it's full of HORROR, monsters, gore and NOTHING ends...well...that would spoil it.
Do yourself a favor and read this.
Just don't blame me when it scares the shit out of you.

Animals was really good for what I read of it...I was half way through when I lost the book during moving to my new place!
I can't even get it again, because it's out of print.
But I did like it a lot, what I read of it.

Try the Amazon Z shops TDA. That's where I picked up The Bridge and Animals from and on the cheap to boot. I managed to get about 70 pages into The Bridge before it got lost in the shuffle of the day to day routine. I have to get back to it and hopefully soon. |

Required reading for horror fans. Hell, all of Skipp and Spector's books should be. Animals is maybe hand's down my favorite werewolf novel ever.
The Books of the Dead are just incredible talents, through and through. The Cleanup will scour your brain forever.
The Light at the End...man, what a great book.

| "The Bridge" is a great Skipp & Spector book -- probably a toss-up between that and "The Scream" as my favorite, though they're all good. Sucks that they split up -- anyone know the scoop on that? Not much solo stuff from either of them, though I see Spector has released a new novel ("Underground"). These guys, along with Clive Barker, Joe Lansdale, Richard Laymon were such a breath of fresh air for the horror genre in the 80s when it seemed most publishers preferred to go for safe and mainstream (aiming for the "King and Koontz" market). |

| All of their books are fantastic, I think Light at the End is actually the only one I was less than thrilled with, as blasphemous as that may sound. I've heard a certain sequel director is in talks to helm an adaptation of one of their books, but no idea which one. |

I haven't read that one, but his first one -- a thriller novel called TO BURY THE DEAD -- was really good.
Also, Skipp has released a few solo works like CONSCIENCE and STUPOGRAPHY. Haven't read either one, but I hear they're great . . . .

| of all the Skipp\Spector books I read, I like this one the most. I've also read Animals and The Light at the End, but this one is a must. I may just read it again soon. |
