I recently finished reading a new anthology called Dark Distortions which has some pretty enjoyable stories (not including one of my own which appears there) - featuring zombies and other dead things, demons, haunted houses, serial killers and more.
Among my favorites from this collection are A.J. Brown's tale of unpleasant memories "The Woodshed"; the obsessive characters of Trevor Price's "Thin Walls" (which, in places, reminded me a bit of Robert Bloch) and Erik Smetana's "Pick"; Gerald C. Matics' tale of possession "Enthralled"; C.D. Allen's eerie "The Rector House"; and Ken Goldman's "The Noah Hypothesis", about a rather unique wineseller.
The best, though, might have been saved for last - Tom Miller's "How the Smokecarver Crete Cadwallader Saved America", while not exactly a horror story, is a very well-written and entertaining piece; to say more would spoil it, so I won't.
Overall, a nice read.

| It's been a little while since this came out. Has anyone else bought/read a copy? |
