| My all time favorite is Der Untergang(The Downfall). Bruno Ganz was amazing and he gave the most realistic portryal of Adolf Hitler I've ever seen. He pretty much makes the movie for me. Speaking of great performances,George C. Scott was brilliant in Patton! I also liked 3 Kings,Battle of the Bulge,The Bunker and Enemy at the Gates. |

Saving Private Ryan
Platoon
All Quiet on the Western Front
Those are the standards. _________________ ----------

I agree.
Black Hawk Down also gets my vote for a raw look at modern warfare. _________________ Open your textbooks to the chapter concerning your death. |

Glory is another one, at least in giving a realistic feeling of combat at the time.
I'm such a sucker for the Dirty Dozen, although I don't suppose it qualifies as a war movie per se. _________________ Close the case before the coffin. |

Full Metal Jacket, Thin Red Line, Apacolypse Now, Casualties Of War...
BUT-
-there's a Korean war flick called Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War ...if you've never seen it...well...you should. I guarantee it'll be one of the best war flicks you've ever seen. Don't take my word for it...do some research. It's the costliest and most popular film in South Korean movie history, and for good reason. Not only are the battles just plain badass...but it has one of the best stories I've ever seen in a war film. Check it out...you won't regret it.
It's AMAZING stuff.

| Call me old fashioned, but I really Liked "The Guns of Navarone". "Enemy at the Gates" is anoher great war flick. |

Hmm:
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
Black Hawk Down
We Were Soldiers
Bat 21
Gettysburg
Apocolypse Now - Regular version only. Redux and workprint are a pain in the ass.
Saving Private Ryan - On the whole needs improvement, but the opening scene is the most realistic D-Day scene ever shot. _________________ Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad says, “there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim.” |

I agree with most of those listed already and would add Three Kings and Jarhead. _________________ Can you feel the thirst?
