Any good businessman knows to strike while the iron is hot, and it’ll never be hotter than it is right now for Cowboys and Aliens co-writer Andrew Foley. With the film version of the graphic novel he co-wrote with Fred van Lente being the talk of Hollywood and opening in less than two weeks, Foley today announced the release of his newest graphic novel Done to Death. Well played, Andrew, well played.

Being released by IDW in September, Done to Death is as much a humorous look at today’s cinematic vampire obsession as it is a bloody horror story. The graphic novel features artwork from Eisner nominee/Shuster winner Fiona Staples (North 40, Jonah Hex and various DC covers) and has the feel of the early 30 Days of Night books. It’s a unique and entertaining twist on our society’s ever-growing vampire obsession.

From the Press Release
Done to Death is a black comedy horror story revolving around three characters. Shannon Wade is a book editor so sick of receiving bad vampire manuscripts that she’s started killing the writers. Andy thought becoming a vampire would transform him from an overweight, stuttering loser into Robert Pattinson, Alexander Skarsgard, or Tom Cruise; instead it transformed him into an overweight, stuttering, immortal loser. Both Shannon and Andy are killing their way toward the woman each holds responsible for their plight: Shelley DeMornay, author of a series of incredibly popular vampire romance novels. When the monsters reach Shelley, the ensuing mess is as bloody as it is entertaining.
