Pretty soon we'll have some Blu-Ray releases from Blue Underground:

No titles yet, but keep an eye out.

Well, it would be mine. Laughing

I'm hoping for a Blu-Ray release of Nightmare City.

Great news, Dude! I was starting to think it might be years before we'd get to see a few Fulci movies in HD.

Anamorphic widescreen dvd or Blue Ray HD. Whatever the difference in quality will be marginal at best. Anyway, check out this rad cover for NIGHTMARE CITY on the way.

I'm excited that BU will be putting out some old favorites in high def quality, but part of me also wonders how it will make some of those special effects look. I do think certain films suffer from the old image quality/FX effectiveness tradeoff that didn't really become an issue until disc started replacing tape.

I've got two copies of this movie. I bought the German (?) release that uses this art, as well, along with the Anchor Bay version. Should the time come, and I've finally invested in Blue Ray, I'd anxiously buy it again. I am not ashamed.

Lustig will probably do his Argento titles. He sunk a lot of money in restoring them, so I'm sure he'll want to put them out again. I wouldn't be surprised to see Zombie come out, either. I also suspect his recent new transfer, two disc special editions were done with an eye for the high-def market.

I think the real question we should be asking is will we finally at long last get UNCLE SAM in high definition?
