The prestigious 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival is currently under way, and while there aren’t a lot of genre films on this year’s slate, there’s one independent slasher flick that has caught our attention here at Dread Central: the creepy indie horror flick called Entrance.

EntranceDirected by relative newcomers Dallas Richard Hallam and Patrick Horvath, Entrance introduces us to recent Los Angeles transplant Suzy (skillfully played by actress Suziey Block), who finds herself in a bit of a rut while living in the City of Angels. Then, strange things start happening to Suzy that may or may not be her increasing paranoia getting the best of her, and once she’s pushed to the brink, she realizes it’s time to head back home to Michigan. On her last night in Los Angeles, the unthinkable happens, and Suzy realizes that all those sinister coincidences over the previous weeks were inklings of the horrors she must now face in order to make it through the night alive.

Recently Dread Central had the opportunity to sit down with Hallam, Horvath and Block during the LAFF and talked with the trio about their experiences making Entrance and their subtle approach to the slasher genre.

Check out our video interview below, and if you’re in the Los Angeles area, be sure to check out Entrance (review here) when it debuts at the LAFF on Friday, June 24th at 10:10 pm. The film will also be screening again on Saturday, June 25th at 4 pm.
