The first teaser for Darren Aronofsky’s mother! has been released ahead of a full trailer that will come online August 8th. The 30-second snippet doesn’t really offer anything visually terrifying, although it cannot be denied that there is a strong atmosphere of tension. Rather, all the horror comes through the sound, which is intense and dominating.

Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, Stephen McHattie, and Kristen Wiig also star. mother! will be in theaters on October 13th.

Synopsis:
A couple’s relationship is tested when uninvited guests come to their home.
