Help Allie & Lara Make a Horror Movie

Meta horror is a tricky subgenre as it can easily fall victim to its own self-referential poking and prodding. That being said, when it’s done right, it results in something that is usually wildly exciting, deeply funny, and brilliantly scathing without being antagonistic or hateful.

Enter Allie & Lara Make a Horror Movie, a potential web series created by Alicia Faucher and Larissa Thomas that follows two women who want to make their own horror film but begin to run into horrors of their own…

Faucher and Thomas already created the first two episodes (you can see the proof-of-concept below) on a shoestring budget of $0 and now they’re seeking $25,000 for the remaining 11 episodes. While that may seem like a large percentage increase, those first two episodes took a year to make and required everyone’s willingness to work for a dream. Now they want to make that dream a reality and for that to happen, people gotta get paid!

So, in an effort to make Allie & Lara Make a Horror Movie come to life, they’ve taken to crowdfunding and have offered several perks along the way! If you want to help out Faucher and Thomas, head on over to Indiegogo to pledge your support!
