Better late than never, right? After well over a year of waiting Sony Pictures is finally delivering [REC] 2 on DVD here in the States. If you haven’t seen this one yet, wow, are you in for a gore filled demonic treat!

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release [REC] 2, the horrifying sequel to the international smash hit that inspired the film Quarantine, on DVD July 12, 2011. After terrifying audiences with their nerve-shredding cult hit [REC], acclaimed filmmaker Jaume Balagueró (Darkness; Fragile) and writer/filmmaker Paco Plaza (Quarantine, Quarantine 2: Terminal, Romasanta: The Werewolf Hunt) return to crank the fear factor to unprecedented levels in [REC] 2, a rare sequel that actually improves on its predecessor and exceeds all expectations. Available for $26.99, the [REC] 2 DVD will include deleted and extended scenes, behind the scenes featurettes, a walkthrough of the set, as well as REC 2 on Tour and Sitges Film Festival featurettes.

[REC] 2 Synopsis
The highly anticipated sequel to one of the scariest films of all time, [REC] 2 picks up 15 minutes from where we left off, taking us back into the quarantined apartment building where a terrifying virus runs rampant. What they find inside lies beyond the scope of medical science – a demonic nightmare more terrifying than they could possibly imagine.
[REC] 2 was written by Jaume Balagueró, Manu Díez and Paco Plaza (Quarantine, Quarantine 2: Terminal), produced by Julio Fernández, and directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza.
