Waaaaaaaaaaay back in 1988 MTV ran this promo for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. The hour long special included various clips of Freddy from the film and a few shot for the promo. Between these bits there were music videos from the horror/nightmare genre. Enjoy! And take a look back at some of the strange commercials that used to run.

I think this was the last VHS left in my collection that has survived. Too bad. I keep watching the videos just to see the commercials like 1-900-490-FREAK.

Whatever happened to those whacky old 900 numbers?

Man, I remember back in the late '80s, me and my friends would call that Freddy 1-900 number all the time and you'd hear Freddy host a very short horror themed radio play.
Some of the stories on those phone calls were pretty good!

If memory serves, Freddy did two V.J. stints for MTV. The NIGHTMARE ENCYCLOPEDIA that's on the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET box set has a handful of clips from the MTV gig, but I've not seen the whole thing in years.

It was fun though, if overexposing Freddy a bit much.

I should mention that I did cut a scene where the VJ was talking to the guitarist for the Vinny Vincent Invasion. It was kind of boring and deleting it kept me within the 10 minute time frame YouTube enforces.
