Jon Avnet Signs on to Locate The Lost Pharaoh

Jon Avnet is responsible for some of my favorite comedies in recent memory. 88 Minutes and Righteous Kill both had me in constant hysterics. So much so that I decided a while back that I’d happily watch anything else he chooses to do.

Jon AvnetWhich means that Bloody Disgusting made my day with today’s bit of news about a new Avent flick headed down the pike. This one is an adaptation of Italian author Valerio Manfredi’s novel Pharaoh.

According to BD: “Erica Miner adapts Pharaoh, Manfredi’s novel that follows a modern Egyptologist who stumbles across a terrifying discovery: what actually happened in Babylon circa 586 B.C. when the prophet Jeremiah hid the sacred Ark of the Covenant as the Babylonians invaded.
