(Now let me preface this with the fact that everything Uncle Creepy did at "that other place" was not a waste. But I do believe that being strung along under false pretenses *IS* a waste.)

I was just listening to Pearl Jam's new album (which is really good, BTW) and the song "Life Wasted" really seemed to describe the way Uncle Creepy (and the staff) got handled by Psaltos.

The lyrics:

You're always saying that there's something wrong
I'm starting to believe it's your plan all along
Death came around, forced to hear its song
And know tomorrow can't be depended on

Seen the home inside your head
All locked doors and unmade beds

Open sores unattended
Let me say just once that

I have faced it, a life wasted
I'm never going back again
I escaped it, a life wasted
I'm never going back again
having tasted, a life wasted
I'm never going back again

The world awaits just up the stairs
Leave the pain for someone else
Nothing back there for you to find
Or was it you you left behind?

You're always saying you're too weak to be strong
You're harder on yourself than just about anyone

Why swim the channel just to get this far?
Halfway there, why would you turn around?

Darkness comes in waves...tell me,
Why invite it to stay?

You're one with negativity
Yes, comfort is an energy
But why let the sad song play?
heheheh...

I have faced it, a life wasted
I'm never going back again

Oh I escaped it, a life wasted
I'm never going back again

having tasted, a life wasted
I'm never going back again

oh i erased it, a life wasted
I'm never going back again

But from here? It's onward and upward -- the only way to go! Very Happy

Amen, FC!

Actually, UC and I are both HUGE PJ fans -- we met because of them in fact. You hit the nail on the head with this one!

I've been rediscovering them. I never bought an album of theirs until their last one, 2002's Riot Act. I purchased said album when it was released. It's really amazing, a truly stellar work by a group of musical geniuses. And it really pisses me off to no end to hear various media outlets proclaim, "They're back!" with this new album. Uh, jackasses? They never went anywhere. I even had a slight argument with a former co-worker about two years ago. She'd said, "Yeah but they haven't done anything as of late." I mentioned Riot Act and how excellent it is and that it's a really rich palette of sound and tremendous lyricism and she kind of gave me the brush off with something to the effect of, "Yeah I liked their old stuff better."
It irritates me to no end that some people cannot get past "Jeremy" or "Even Flow"! They have other songs, you morons! GRRR...

Anyway, I was listening to the new album and just needed to vent a bit. Take care and have a great day! Very Happy

Simmer down, NME. That's just some in the media doing that because of how loyal their fans are, following them around the country and such. Neither the band nor their fans would ever say something so stupid.

I Pity The Fool sez: They're much better than the Dead anyway.

I thought the Dave Matthews Band was the new Grateful Dead?
