Just started reading THE DESCENT, been looking for it for a long time [suprisingly hard to find in my neck of the woods,] and I'm bloody well loving what I've read so far.
Fortunately DEEPER is much easier to find here, so if the first book continues to impress as much as it has so far, I'll be grabbing the sequel as soon as I'm done. |

| I hadn't read THE DESCENT when I stumbled upon DEEPER, but I didn't feel like I missed out on too much plot-wise. I enjoyed the concept of DEEPER greatly. |

I can imagine that DEEPER works well on its own since most of the characters are new and those few who return from THE DESCENT have their past summarized. The same goes for what happened to the world.
But if you enjoyed DEEPER you should consider picking up THE DESCENT as well. Just read it as a prequel if you like. It's not to be missed.
Personally I'm already psyched for the the third book in what Long now says will be a trilogy. |

I'll definitely put The Descent on my list of things to read.
Have you read any James Rollins? I've only read his Amazonia, but it had some similar plot elements. Less horror than adventure, but still entertaining. |

| Just joined, The Descent and Deeper were two of my favorite books. Ive read a ton of this type and these are two of the best. Year Zero also by Jeff Long is also top notch. |
