Cool news!

IMDB finally posted some details about the Lifetime Channel movie that Messiahman and I wrote this year.

It's called GRAVE MISCONDUCT and it's directed by Armand Mastroianni, the director of HE KNOWS YOU'RE ALONE.

Grave Misconduct is a suspense thriller for the non-horror crowd, but we still managed to sneak in some stylish kills and genre elements. In fact, the way Armand directed the first murder is pure giallo. Black gloved killer hands? Check! Screaming woman attacked by gas-masked psycho? Check! It's a very cool opening sequence, and there are lots of other moments like that scattered throughout. The task was to write a television suspense film for women who don't naturally like horror movies.

We've already seen a rough cut of it, and we're pleased. It's an original script, the only thing we had to work with was a title and a one sentence log line - "Writer steals book, murders ensue." For better or worse, they ended up sticking very close to the actual script. I'm not expecting it to happen like this again, but it's nice when it does. The acting is a mixed bag, and the budget constraints show at times, but Armand's visual style helps ease things along nicely. Right now it's back in the editing bay, being tightened and tweaked and timed. The music score is being finished, and there are still a few effects shots being worked on, including a corpse make-up job that I'm excited to see.

We currently have no idea when it's going to air, but we'll let you know before it does. I'm curious to see how much of the horror stuff will make it to air.

We've also got a Spike TV movie we'll be announcing soon. THAT'S the one I can't wait to announce. It's very much a genre film. TDA is gonna dig it.

This is without a doubt the first Lifetime movie to ever feature references to THE PROWLER, CARRIE and the films of John Carpenter.

And I'm damn proud of that fact.

This sounds horrible. There is no other way around it. A "Tenebre" rip-off written for the Lifetime channel.

I'll pass.

Penitentiary 6", at best.

"Undisputed 3", at worst.

Either way, the outlook isn't promising.

You guys ever think about writing for Asylum Studios?

Is there any such thing as mainstream, professional prison fighting?

Or are you referring to literal under the ground prison fighting?

There are prison boxing leagues.

This ain't that. Think more along the lines of the matches in ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK.

Well, come to think of it, the fights do take place in a pit, so technically... we're covered both ways. Laughing
