Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make.

In 1897 an Irishman named Bram Stoker wrote one of the most influential novels committed to press, Dracula. The tale of an ancient Transylvanian vampire surving through the centuries on the blood of the living has capitvated and frightened readers for over a century. It's vampiric antagonist was based on a combination of the Wallachian Prince Vlad "The Impaler" and European folklore and legends of the undead.
While F.W. Murnau was the first to commit a version of this classic tale to film , 1922's classic Nosferatu, it would be Todd Browning's 1931 version based on the hit stage play that would have the greater and lasting impact on viewers a nd filmakers. In no small part due to a 49 year old Hungarian actor name Bela Lugosi.
