David Von Ancken to Have an Awakening for The CW

With zombies now shambling their way to The CW, all eyes are on them to see if they can deliver an at least fairly visceral experience for fans of basic cable. The good news? They’ve landed a good choice to direct the pilot.
According to Bloody Disgusting TV veteran David Von Ancken (“Californication,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Heroes,” “The Shield,” “OZ,” “Memphis Beat”, “Hell on Wheels”) will helm the pilot episode of The CW’s “Awakening”, a new zombie series shooting this March in Toronto.
“Awakening” centers on two sisters who come of age and face off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising.
