Dimension Gets Extreme

Dimension announces plans to release newly-restored SuspiriaThe Brothers Weinstein just keep making new announcements and adding new and, in some ways, terribly confusing manners in which to get horror out to the public at large according to Variety. The question is whether or not the new entities announced at Cannes will actually speed that process up or not.

Dimension Extreme is one of three new labels announced, and along with it the news that the newly-restored print of Suspiria, which played at this years Cannes to celebrate it’s 30th anniversary, will be the launch title for Dimension Extreme. The label will focus specifically on horror, comedy, thriller and sci fi pics.

Other titles that will be out under the Extreme label are Pulse 2 (why?) and Greg McLean’s oft-delayed giant croc film Rogue, though it’s not clear whether or not that will be theatrical or straight to DVD, as the article in Variety states that some Extreme titles will see release in theaters, though the label is primarly for direct-to-home video.

Stay tuned for more as we learn it!
