IFC Midnight continues its genre-loving way with its pick-up at this year’s AFM of Wrecked, a psychological thriller starring Adrien Brody that marks the directorial debut of Montreal native Michael Greenspan.

According to Variety Wrecked, which premiered at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival in October, sees Brody’s character wake up in a car wreck at the bottom of a steep cliff, having no memory of who he is or how he got there, leaving him forced to discover his true identity.

Christopher Dodd, who also worked with Greenspan on the shorts “The Legend of Razorback” and “Lost & Found”, penned the script.

IFC Films will release the pic via IFC Midnight in spring 2011.

Kyle Mann (Capote, Push) developed, produced and financed through his newly formed shingle, Independent Edge. Telefilm Canada also backed the film. Brody takes an exec producer’s role on the pic, which also stars Caroline Dhavernas (Breach, Hollywoodland) and Ryan Robbins (Walking Tall, Passengers).
