I didn't get the system, but did purchase the new 120gb hard drive. If anyone else has picked up an Elite I'd like to know if there is drastic difference between the HDMI and Component video quality (with the exception of 1080p).

I didn't get it because my Samsung DLP does 1080p through component. I have some people on my list that said it does look better then the VGA cable. Take it for what it's worth.

EGM magazine said that the difference in video quality between HDMI and Component video quality is small.

Still debating. I love the idea of HDMI connection, especially with the HD-DVD add-on.

If I can get a good trade-in on my old system I'l get the Elite.

Picked one up today. The HDMI and 1080p make a dramatic difference, at least on my television. It is just too bad that the data transfer cable you can get with the stand alone 120gb HD doesn't work if you want to transfer from 120gb to another 120gb.

Also, if you are thinking of trading in a hard drive, don't do it at EB. My god! $20 for the 20gig and $50 for the 120. Those prices do not even make sense.

The smaller hard drive costs $69.99 used. That's a $40 profit. If we do the math that means the 120gb may sell for about 149.99 pre-owned. That is a $90 profit. Thank Gebus for Craigslist.
