Each day our troops protect us from the true demons in this world and make some pretty incredible sacrifices to keep us safe. Sometimes though… the horrors out there can fall into the realm of the supernatural. According to THR, in a competitive situation, Lionsgate has preemptively picked up a true-life exorcism project from writers Evan Turner and Harrison Query.

Beau Flynn, who produced San Andreas and the upcoming Baywatch, will produce the supernatural thriller via his FlynnPictureCo with Scott Glassgold of Ground Control Entertainment, who found the rights.

Details are being kept in the vestibule, but sources say the project is based on a true incident set on a military base. The untitled project partners two writers who have burgeoning solo careers.

Turner is a former Walden Media exec who sold a buddy action comedy titled Partners, with Mark Wahlberg attached to star. Flynn already has experience tackling the supernatural, having produced 2005’s The Exorcism of Emily Rose as well as the Anthony Hopkins-starring The Rite, which was released in 2011.

More as it comes.
