Phantom Entertainment (OTC BB: PHEI) is an industry-leading, global entertainment and interactive game company. Phantom Entertainment has developed and is marketing its first product the Phantom Lapboard, a combination wireless keyboard, laser mouse and hard surface that makes it easy for you to work or play games from your couch, easy chair or any other comfortable setting in your home or workplace. The Company is in the development of its flagship product the Phantom Game Service, anticipated to be the first end-to-end, on-demand game service delivering online games directly to your living room.

Wow, they sure to make years of failure and lying to investors sound like a good business plan. How many years has it been since Phantom was first announced? 6 or 7? And all they have to show for it is a keyboard and mouse?! Hell, that product was just made to keep investors happy that something tangible was coming out of the company's ass. With a little digging, however, it is pretty clear that this company should have never been trusted in the first place.

Plans for the actual Phantom gaming unit have been ditched and replaced with:

The Phantom Game Service will be designed to provide a completely new entertainment experience. Because it is always connected to your broadband service, digital content is literally at your fingertips when YOU want it, day or night, without leaving the comfort of home.

To get started with your new service you will need:

Um ... don't we already have this service thanks to Direct2Drive?

The irony of calling it the Phantom is not lost on me.

When everything's said and done, the story of the Phantom may rival the Gizmondo for most fucked-up con job ever pulled on the gaming public. Except that they actually released the Gizmondo.

I company is a big scam. So much money was dumped into the project and all they have to show for it is an overpriced keyboard and mouse?! Even before that when there was actually a physical prototype unit it was just a cheap gaming rig and not one single developer was announced that would be part of their downloadable service.

How people kept investing in this scam is beyond me.
