Fucking epic. Better than Leviathan. Then again, for my money, Leviathan's probably the weakest thing I've ever heard them do, but I know I'm in the minority on that one. Loved the hell out of Lifesblood.
Anyways, pick up the new album.
"Bladecatcher," "Circle Cysquatch" and "The Wolf is Loose" are, so far, the standouts.
Especially "Bladecatcher." That shit's just nuts; an absolute fucking trip. |

| I have two of their albums, but they never get much play. I never really got into them. |

I dig them.
I absolutely LOVE their cover of Thin Lizzy's Emerald. _________________ Damn! |

I'll agree, there.
Lifesblood kicked ASS, though. |

I like Blood Mountain a lot, but I prefer Leviathan. I caught Mastodon on the Unholy Alliance Tour back in July, and they put on a heck of a show. I'd like to see them again someday. _________________ One, two......Freddy's coming for you!!! |

| I've only seen them once. In the back room of a record store 4 or 5 years ago, about the time Remission came out, I think... or maybe before that. Still, I'll always be able to say that. |

| Remission is a classic IMO, didn't really care for Leviathan that much. haven't checked out Blood Mountain yet. |

My cameraman grew up with them and actually just got off the road after a year out with them for the most part. If you search HASHTHRASH on youtube I think he has clips up for viewing.
When I saw the dvd he is cutting together I thought it was store bought...but nope.
I got mine! Woo hoo! _________________ When you are beautiful it's only skin deep, but when you are ugly it's all the way through. |

Yeah, what Sean said. Mastodon are longtime friends from way back, and I tour with them frequently. I love the hell out of Brann and Bill's playing, as I was a big, big fan of their old band, Lethargy. Blood Mountain is huge, and by far the craziest record Warner Bros has released since Mr Bungle's "California". _________________ http://www.killthatcat.com |
