Anyone fans of these monsters from Finland? I know I fuckin' love them! They're bringing back classic rock and metal to the forefront. The Arockalypse was released on March, 20, 2007. So far it's been the best album of this year. They even have a few guests on it like Dee Snider, Udo Dirkschneider, Bruce Kulick, and Jay Jay French. They mix all that classic rock and metal stuff with horror. Not to forget, they fucking won Eurovision in 05!!!! So I'm wondering.... is there anymore fans of this fucking brilliant and great band besides me???

Lordi's winning performance at Eurovision 05

I just recently heard them for the first time a few months ago. I found them to be pretty good (I`ve only really heard 3 songs). While I do not own any of their cd`s, I was considering a purchase of one in a few weeks. I`m a fan of GWAR and at first sight, took them to be of the same vein. They seem to be more straightforward and less....uummm.....ridiculous. Is that correct?

Yes, they're pretty much straightforward. I have a burned copy of The Arockalypse that my friend made me from his CD/DVD set and I just fucking love that album. They pretty much sing about monsters, horror, rock n' roll, and other shit like that. Gwar, while I do like some of their songs, they just got it all wrong with making themselves way too silly. With Lordi, you don't get silly, just pure fuckin' coolness.

That`s cool. I`ll have to check them out further when I get the opportunity.

The point of gwar is to be completely ridiculous. I love Lordi, but I don't feel either one should be compared due to major differences in style and content. I have about 5 gwar albums, and 3 of lordis. My favorite song is biomechanic man

Lordi is one of those bands where nothing really stands out(vocals, guitars ect) yet their music is so much fun that it doesn't matter...Saw them with Type O Negative last year....it was one hell of a show......Now, I am off The Chainsaw Buffet....
