Patrick Tatopoulos to Bug Out with The Colony

If there’s one thing that special effects maestro, creature creator, and director Patrick Tatopoulos knows, it’s monsters. Thankfully the man’s got another one of the way that’s sure to send some “keep that friggin’ thing away from me” type shivers up your spine.
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog Patrick Tatopoulos (pictured right) is in negotiations to come aboard Participant Media’s eco-horror tale The Colony with production set to begin as early as this fall.
Stacy Title and “Survivor” Jonathan Penner wrote the script, which was rewritten by David Lee Johnson.
Being heralded as “The Birds with bugs” the film revolves around a group of survivors who are forced underground by the next ice age. There, they must fight to preserve humanity against a savage threat.
