So here's the second lil' statue I made, Peloquin from the Nightbreed. The photos were taken while I was deciding whether or not to add his necklace and the shirt strings so it was still in progress.

Good stuff, Gus. Love the work on his face, in particular.

Yet again, I'm reminded how much I need to see Nightbreed.

The concept of Nightbreed is better than the movie. I would suggest finding this Nightbreed book, I can't remember the name, where they get into the history of the individual 'breed members. It's long out of issue so you'll probably need to pick it up on ebay. But it's a better use of your time and money than the movie.

You can tell the puppeteer influence on the statue's I think. A lot of detail on the head, and to some degree the hands (I've always had trouble with hands) but not so much on the bodies, which for rod puppets would be wood, foam and a costume. The clothes for Peloquin had a lot more detail at the first sculpt, with folds and wrinkles but I ended up covering it with an epoxy clay for strength so they would not chip off.

Isn't the book called Cabal or something?

The book the movie is based on his Cabal. I'm talking about a book that tied into the movie. You would have a photo of a character and then a bio.
