The Final Girls Arrive on DVD and Blu-ray in November

An official selection of the SXSW Film Festival, the Los Angeles Film Festival, screened at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness, and celebrated at SITGES, director Todd Strauss-Schulson’s genre-blending horror comedy THE FINAL GIRLS debuts on Blu-ray and DVD November 3rd from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Taissa Farmiga (“American Horror Story”), Malin Akerman (Couples Retreat), Adam DeVine (“Modern Family”), Thomas Middleditch (“Silicon Valley”), Alia Shawkat (“Arrested Development”), Alexander Ludwig (“Vikings”), and Nina Dobrev (“The Vampire Diaries”) star in the unconventional comedy about a young girl (Farmiga) who is mysteriously transported with her friends into the 1980s horror film that starred her late mother (Akerman). Now they must fend off the camp counselors’ raging hormones, battle a deranged machete-wielding killer, and find a way to escape the movie and make it back home.

THE FINAL GIRLS comes loaded with bonus materials, including alternate endings, deleted scenes, and extended scenes, each with optional director’s commentary; cast and crew commentary featuring director Todd Strauss-Schulson and actors Thomas Middleditch, Taissa Farmiga, and Angela Trimbur; and writers’ commentary with Joshua Miller and M.A. Fortin.

Directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and written by M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller, THE FINAL GIRLS was produced by Michael London and Janice Williams. Darren M. Demetre, M.A. Fortin, and Joshua John Miller served as executive producers.

THE FINAL GIRLS has a run time of approximately 88 minutes and is rated PG-13 for horror violence, some crude and sexual material, language, and drug use.

Synopsis:
When Max (Taissa Farmiga) and her friends reluctantly attend an anniversary screening of Camp Bloodbath, the infamous ‘80s horror film that starred Max’s late mother (Malin Akerman), they are mysteriously sucked into the silver screen. They soon realize they are trapped inside the cult classic movie and must team up with the fictional and ill-fated camp counselors, including Max’s mom as the scream queen, to battle the film’s machete-wielding killer. With the body count rising in scene after iconic scene, who will be the final girls left standing and live to escape this film? THE FINAL GIRLS is a genre-blending horror comedy also starring Adam DeVine, Thomas Middleditch, and Alia Shawkat with Alexander Ludwig and Nina Dobrev.
