Turistas seems like a very timely film, dealing as it does with a group of young backpackers who experience a less-than-thrilled reception when they hit the jungles of Brazil. A bus accident leaves them stranded in said jungles, and they come face-to-face with something even worse than rude locals.
Fox Atomic acquired Turistas for a U.S. release next year, and at Comic Con they had a ton of posters for it with the perfect tagline: “Go Home”. Some digging by one of our readers found that the first trailer for it is now over on Fox Atomic’s official site, and it looks pretty freaky if you ask me. Drugged backpackers having surgeries performed on them; that’s the kind of thing that makes me want to avoid leaving the country.
