Sorority Row to be Rated R?

Stewart Hendler’s Sorority Row remake is chugging along quite nicely with some really good news for us slasher-fan faithful – it will be rated R and not PG-13 as everyone has been speculating. Violence, nudity, and gore in a slasher redux? There is a God!

This tidbit of tasty news comes from someone really close to the project and has yet to be officially confirmed, but we’re feeling pretty good about the source so — there you have it — Sorority Row. Rated R. Huzzah.

The remake, which stars Briana Evigan, Rumer Willis, Audrina Patridge, and Carrie Fisher, tells the story of “five sorority girls who inadvertently cause the murder of one of their sisters in a prank gone wrong. They agree to keep the matter to themselves and never speak of it again so they can get on with their lives. This proves easier said than done, when after graduation a mysterious killer goes after the five of them and anyone who knows their secret.

Check out the teaser poster and the trailer below. Look for the flick in theatres October 2nd.
