Superman. The ultimate superhero. Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Now Science of Superman puts these powers to the test, revealing what's plausible based on Earth-bound laws of physics, biology and autonomy, and what's pure science-fiction. How might gravity, x-rays, ballistics and radiation apply to Superman if he was real?

Premieres June 29th, 9 p.m.est on the National Geographic Channel.

He's an alien.

Of course he is, but it's going to be funny to see scientists explain it. Besides they're going to show clips of Superman Returns.

I think it's just a clever marketing ploy, and it's definitely clever enough to get me to watch lol.

Laughing All sorts of these things come out when the movies do. I remember there being the science of Marvel when X2 came out.

I wonder if they'll cover any of the same ground that Larry Niven did in his "Man of Steel, Woman of Tissue" essay: http://www.rawbw.com/~svw/superman.html

Yeah I remember that one, and M.Night Shyamalan "documentary" when The Village came out. I'm hooked on most of those.
