Anyone watching this?
It's a spin-off of "new" Doctor Who, where one time Who companion Capt. Jack Harkness heads up a small elite group of people investigating alien crimes, while using confiscated alien technology.
I've seen a few episodes, and so far it's just "ok."
Not bad, not good.
It definitely has it's moments.
And as a Doctor Who spin-off, it references Doctor Who a lot:
The Doctor's severed hand in a vat of liquid, a Cyber-Woman, references to the Cyberman and Dalek invasion, as well as the Syrocax invasion from "The Christmas Invasion."
It's a lot of "name dropping" but so far it seems like the show could be decent. Nothing Earth shattering, but a decent diversion while I'm waiting for the next season of Doctor Who. _________________ Damn! |

Jack Harkness is that the captain from the first season who led the group to fight those robots and was nearly maimed by those fashion robots? I really enjoyed his character. Sounds cool. _________________ ----------

We're going to watch that one this weekend. I don't hear good things about it from anyone, actually. _________________ Damn! |

I've downloaded all four episodes but haven't watched any of them yet.
If anyone is interested, let me know. _________________ "Sigh. Malachi, Conan is a fictional character, Dungeon Masters are real, hard-working people..." - Chainsaw

I watched the first episode via Youtube (look under the episode names + Torchwood) and was bored to tears. I didn't bother watching the rest. _________________ It shouldn't have to be like this - Pitchshifter |

| It's a good show. I've seen the first three episodes, and I'm liking it a lot. It's different enough from Dr. Who to warrant it's own basis. The Torchwood team are alot of fun and the plots are interesting. It's got an edginess to it that Dr. Who doesn't really have (or, granted, doesn't need), but Torchwood does if it is to stand out on it's own. |

It's griitier and darker from what I've seen. I'm undecided on it to this point. But it sounds like the Cyberwoman ep may end my passing interest. _________________ I'll keep digging ... 'til I feel something here |

We watched the Cyberwoman episode the other day, and it was as bad as I expected, but it was still kinda goofy and was definitely the lesser of the stories I have seen so far.
I mean, c'mon...

Yeah, kinda cheesy.
But I thought it wasn't all that bad.
I think Torchwood has potential. _________________ "Sigh. Malachi, Conan is a fictional character, Dungeon Masters are real, hard-working people..." - Chainsaw
