The producers of the upcoming feature horror film The Eternal have announced development of a full-length graphic novel prequel to their film entitled The Eternal: Final Dawn, and this looks like some good gore-soaked reading!

The novel, written by Justin McConnell, Kevin Hutchinson, and Adam Kenneth Wilson and illustrated by Justin Erickson (Rue Morgue Magazine), represents the first step in offering a unique immersive experience for an independent film, as out of the twelve total issues, the first six will be offered online in monthly installments, entirely free and coming later this year. Canadians will get an early glance at the project as it will be previewed at the upcoming Rue Morgue Festival of Fear in Toronto. For now a teaser of the graphic novel can be found here.

“The Eternal: Final Dawn tells the life (and undead) story of Samuel Gradius, born in 1463 Scotland as Samhairle Greme. Twelve chapters tell his journey, from birth until 2009, and the first moments of the feature film The Eternal. Set against the backdrop of real history and known myth, the horrific, tragic and humorous collide in The Eternal: Final Dawn. Welcome to Samuel’s world – we can’t guarantee your safety.”

Development on the feature film The Eternal continues, with shooting scheduled for early fall. Casting developments will be announced as shooting draws closer, and producers are hard at work securing a great ensemble to join already attached leads Adam Kenneth Wilson (soon to be seen as Charles Manson in the upcoming biopic Manson) and James Lorinz (from the cult classics Frankenhooker and Street Trash).
