Oh, it’s a happy day for you X-Philes out there as Entertainment Weekly just landed a battery of images from the set of the now filming resurgence of “The X-Files.” Yep, it’s really happening. Now if only “Twin Peaks” would get cooking.

Below you’ll find the first shots of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, Joel McHale, creator Chris Carter, and Annet Mahendru.

“The X-Files” debuts on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at 10:00PM immediately after the network’s broadcast of the NFL championship game and begins a five-week run Mondays at 8:00PM.

Mitch Pileggi returns as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner, while William B. Davis will be back as the iconic Cigarette-Smoking Man in the new short-stack order of six episodes.

Veteran writers James Wong and Glen Morgan are also back, which could explain the alleged sequel to “Home,” a fan favorite.  The two writers collaborated on several of the series’ most acclaimed episodes, and they’re each slated to write and direct one episode of the new season. Morgan will also join as executive producer with Chris Carter, who created the series.

Shooting continues at North Shore Studios in N. Vancouver through August 14th.
