That makes two of us, I guess. Right now I just play an Ibanez SG-5 through an Ampeg solid-state combo, since it's been a while since I've played with anyone else. Mostly I'm a bedroom player these days. I actually get a pretty good range of sound with the Ibanez, really good considering I got it new for under $500 a few years back.

Sweet, I'm playing a Fender Jazz through a peice of shit Behringer 30watt amp Laughing

If I hadn't just spent all my money on a fretless Jazz, I would have probably upgraded to a shitty Behringer stack Laughing

Ha!

How do you like this? I've got a Berringer 300watt head through an Ampeg 15' cab.

I know. That's like having a girlfriend with Scarlet Johansen's body but Joan Rivers' face.

It doesn't sound to bad though but will sound better as soon as I upgrade my head.

BTW, I have a Rickenbacker 4003 equipped with Flats. More "McCartney Sgt. Pepper" less "Geddy Lee/Chris Squire."

But 'Resist' from the Test for Echo album is one of the best songs ever.

Don't get me wrong. When someone says they play a Rickenbacker bass, the first tone that comes to mind is Geddy Lee. I put flats on my 4003 to get Sir Paul's sweet mid-range mellow "tone" instead of Geddy's treble "ping."

I still LOVE playing Geddy's basslines. I was just after the "other Rickenbacker sound."

It has nothing to do with who I think is better.

Is that the new Squire Pastoris bass or an actual Fender fretless?

I've heard some really great reviews of the new Fender Squire Pastorius signature fretless.

I actually learned how to play on an ancient Fender Jazz bass, and it will probably be the next Bass I purchase although after dissecting some Chic, I want to buy a Music Man. Bernard Edwards laid down some absolutely SICK basslines with his Music Man.

Fender, I wont touch a Squire Laughing

After I buy a new amp, I think that a MusicMan might be up next on the list, Probably a 5 string, I dont need another 4 string right now Wink

The only way I will get another 4 string is if I manage to find a 70's Jazz, I fell in love with my teachers when he let me play it, it kicks all my basses asses.
