Tour the Tales of an Ancient Empire Gallery

A demon sorceress and her vampires … heroes … villains. Plus gore, blood, and naked damsels. A typical weekend in DC’s offices? Maybe, but it’s also what we were promised by Albert Pyun as filming of his Sword and the Sorcerer follow-up, Tales of an Ancient Empire, progressed. Last we heard of the production, they were “almost at the stretch run” and awaiting Christopher Lambert’s arrival to shoot the finishing shots.

Pyun describes Tales as a stylistic fusing of old fashion adventure films with contemporary horror and action. The fighting style is very Kali, fast, vicious, on close. This instead of the traditional sword action where there are a number of broad sword strokes. Sorbo and Lambert will bring a ton of humor. The vampire/dark sorcery element is very disturbing and horrific…but hopefully in a fun way. Cynthia [Curnan]’s screenplay has done a nice job of blending these elements.

The Tales team provided us with so many stills and camera grabs that we created an album for them in our Gallery. Click any of the three lovely ladies below to see the rest of the pics. If you live in California, you might want to pay special attention to the second photo of Jennifer Siebel-Newsom, who portrays Queen Ma’at. Jennifer is married to the present Mayor of San Francisco, who’s rumored to be the Democratic candidate for Governor next year.

Previous teasers and stills featuring Melissa Ordway and Kevin Sorbo can be found here.

We’re sure to get another update from Albert once post-production and editing are under way, and of course we’ll pass it on.
