Uni Tags Writer

A while back we gave you the word that Universal had acquired the rights to the Boom! Studios comic Tag for a feature film (read it here), though at the time there were only minor details about it.

The Hollywood Reporter got word today that things are moving forward with it, Universal having hired on Cary Malloy (Alone) to adapt the comic, which was originally penned by 30 Days of Night writer Keith Giffen. No word if Giffen got to turn in his own script, but hopefully he’ll get some say as to how the final product reads.

Tag tells of an ancient pagan curse that is spread through touch. After getting in a fight with his girlfriend, a man passes by someone on the street who touches him and says “Tag,” thus transfering the curse to him. The man begins to rot alive until he finds someone he wishes ill on enough to pass the curse along again. Check out the Boom! Studios site for more info on the comic, and keep it here for more on the film as we learn it!
