Hark’s Got a New Eye

Tsui Hark to helm The Eye 3One would hope, after all this time working on middle-of-the road, somewhat decent horror/action films, that director Tsui Hark would have something better to do than try to make another Eye film. One would be wrong.

The Hollywood Reporter threw out the news that Hark, along with producer Peter Chan, has begun work on The Eye 3 with Hark in the director’s seat. Hark’s tale will deal with a grieving widow who believes her dead husband is sending her messages about his drowning death from beyond the grave.

This will actually be the third sequel to the Pang Bros. original, following The Eye 2 and The Eye 10, which most people don’t bother recognizing as it’s not really the Pang Bros. in their final hour. Hark’s take sounds like another in-name-and-concept-only sequel, but perhaps someday someone will attempt to link them all together.
