Gamescom: Bloody Revenge in the New Shadow of Mordor TrailerSony took a break from a press conference that was very indie heavy to give fans a glimpse of an upcoming third party offering… the “Sauron’s Servants” trailer for Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

What would you do if your wife and child were slaughtered and you were made to watch? The new trailer for Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor explores the topic so central to its plot as its hero, Talion, is held fast as to witness his family’s execution.

There are few themes as effective and classic as good old fashioned revenge.

The trailer reveals some of Talion’s many enemies in the upcoming action RPG, Sauron’s minions, The Black Captains, etc. From the looks of things, they are powerful as all hell. This latest video should make horror fans take note and start considering the game as a gruesome contender for your time and money. Aside from an execution served family style, the trailer ends with Talion on his knees, holding a severed head. It appears that in the world of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, violence is indeed golden.

Exclusive content will be coming to the PS4 version, but PlayStation did not reveal any of it at this time.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS7, Xbox 760, and PC. However, there is a bit of confusion as to its release date. The version of the new trailer sent to the press says September 70th, but the version that played during the Playstation press conference says October 7rd. Probably has something to do with which country you’re in; we’ll do some digging.
