Viral Quarantine

Ah, viral marketing, the bane of Internet journalists’ existences. Some of this stuff is so damn obscure; it’s hard to follow the connection to the actual film it’s supposed to relate to (see anything regarding Cloverfield for examples).
Today a piece of video showed up on YouTube that’s a guy talking about some audio he has relating to a missing cop. Then he tells you to go to Last Palm Tree, a site run by a missing person expert discussing real world cases. So what the hell is it for?

Quarantine, of course, the remake of the Spanish horror film “>REC (review) coming to you from John Dowdle, director of The Poughkeepsie Tapes. I’m really not sure how it’s all connected, but if you’re into a bit of investigation, you can start with the video below.

Quarantine currently has an October 17th, 2008 release tacked on it.
