I must confess that I know very little about cricket aside from it being a sport that people either love or think is the most boring game on the planet. I’ve personally only seen a few minutes of a cricket match on TV once and quickly changed the channel out of sheer boredom. The thought of a movie based around it simply doesn’t interest me, and lord knows Bollywood loves making musicals about it; however, I’ll gladly watch I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer. Yes, that is the film’s actual title. I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer is a new horror comedy from Australia that uses the game of cricket as the basis for a slasher flick.
“A cricket team are dismissed by a mustachioed serial killer with a razor-sharp cricket glove and an arsenal of sharpened stumps. One by one the killer exacts revenge for the torment he endured 20 years earlier.” The biggest question this brings up is why did the filmmaker feel that the killer’s “mustachioed” nature was important enough to mention?
Not much else is known about the movie outside of that which has been posted on the barebones official website and MySpace page, but both those include the NSFW trailer that’s definitely piqued my interest. Expect to be hearing more about I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer in the near future. Now go check out the trailer – just don’t do it at work.
