Horror Wins at Fantastic

Hatchet wins, Tony smilesThe third annual Fantastic Fest just wrapped up last weekend in Austin, Texas, and after 8 days of nothing but horror and fantasy film programming, everyone had to go away and discuss amongst themselves what movies were their favorites.

The final result of those discussions is now up at the Fantastic Fest < a href="http://fantasticfest.bside.com/?_view=_profile&_template=fantasticfest&userId=3328128&myfestTab=blogs&" target="blank">site, but specifically we’d like to congratulate Adam Green, whose debut film Hatchet (review) took home the Audience Award as well as Best Actor (for Kane Hodder) and Best Special Effects. Billy O’Brien’s killer sheep movie Isolation (review) took 2nd place for the Audience Award and won Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography from the Horror Jury. Nice!

Now that Hatchet has yet another award under its belt, we can expect to be hearing some solid info on its impending release any day now. Stay tuned!
