It’s Time For a Dose of Adorably Spooky With Animal Crossing: New Horizons Halloween Event

If you’re going to make a life sim, you have to account for ever possible holiday. The best holiday is now upon us, and that’s Halloween. So naturally Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be getting some spooky content.

Shown off in a new trailer, a set of Halloween-themed events will be added to the game starting on September 30th. The most important? You can do what every good household should do during this time: get candy to give to people in costume. You can start buying candy from the Nook store, which you can then hand out on Halloween. You can also get pumpkin seeds to grow pumpkins, which you can then use to craft into some spooky Halloween decorations of your own.

That’s not all. Your town will also be visited by Jack, the Halloween Czar. In past Animal Crossing games you could play a game with him, where you try to pick him out from a set of villagers that will chase you. You could also give him candy in exchange for Halloween-themed furniture. All of this should make for a good time to scare your friends. Or get spoopy.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is currently available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The Halloween event starts on September 30th.
