Joaquin Phoenix Offered $50M for JOKER 2 & JOKER 3?

In what isn’t really that surprising news, we’re hearing that the powers that be over at Warner Bros. have gone ahead and offered Ocar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix a whopping $50 million to return for director Todd Phillips’ Joker 2 and Joker 3.

Better yet, Warner Bros. hopes the movies will be ready to roll in 2022 and 2024.

An unnamed insider told Mirror: “[Joaquin has]changed his tune now. He says he wants to play this character again, despite the controversies that came with the release last year. It’s still being negotiated but the scripts are being written and Joaquin is very engaged with it. They plan to make two sequels in the next four years, with a long-term commitment to Joaquin and his Joker director Todd Phillips and producer Bradley Cooper. It’s all about getting Joaquin to accept the terms, and the biggest payday of his career by far.”

Written by Phillips with Scott Silver, the first film had this synopsis: Forever alone in a crowd, failed comedian Arthur Fleck seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham. Arthur wears two masks — the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he’s part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied, and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.
