Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams’ hit new horror series Lovecraft Country premiered last week. And today, HBO has made the premiere episode available to watch for free on YouTube.

Lovecraft Country follows 25-year-old Koren war vet Atticus Black, who joins up with his friend Letitia “Leti” Dandridge and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip to find his missing father. Atticus, known for always having a pulp novel in his back pocket, wears his heart on his sleeve despite the daily injustice of living in the 1950s Jim Crow America. The trio must survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the malevolent spirits ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.
The series is developed by Misha Green based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff. Jordan Peele (Get Out, US) and J.J. Abrams (Super 8, Star Trek) executive produce the series with Green who serves as showrunner.
Yann Demange (Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Dead Set) directed and executive produced the pilot episode.
It stars Jonathan Majors as Atticus “Tic” Freeman with Jurnee Smollett as Letitia “Leti” Lewis and Courtney B. Vance as Atticus’ uncle, George Freeman. Aunjanue Ellis joins them along with Wunmi Mosaku, Jamie Chung, Jada Harris, Michael K. Williams, and Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Tony Goldwyn (The Last House on the Left).
