Bill Murray: Rick Moranis & Harold Ramis Are “Greatly Missed” in GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE

Director Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife with Finn Wolfhard and Paul Rudd has been moved from its original July 10 release date to March 5, 2021.

And today Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II star Bill Murray says Rick Moranis (Louis Tully) and Harold Ramis (Egon Spengler) are “greatly missed” in the film.

Specifically, Murray tells Ellen: “We’re missing two great people. We’re missing Rick Moranis and we’re missing Harold Ramis. And they’re greatly missed for so many reasons. They were so much a part of the creation of it and the fun of it. But Harold is featured in the story of the movie, so it’s going to be very interesting.”

Jason Reitman directs Ghostbusters 2020 from a screenplay he wrote along with Gil Kenan (Monster House) based on the original film written by Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ivan Reitman. Ivan Reitman produces and the film stars Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Logan Kim, Celeste O’Connor, Oliver Cooper, and Bokeem Woodbine.

It will also see the return of original Ghostbusters cast including Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd as Raymond Stantz, Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore, Sigourney Weaver as Dana Barrett, and Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz.

Ghostbusters 2020 aka Ghostbusters 3 aka Ghostbusters: Afterlife is scheduled to be released in the United States via Sony Pictures Releasing on March 5, 2021.
