American Cult Horror BENDER Gets Name Change for UK Release

Following the film festival circuit acclaim of his Mick Fleetwood-produced soul documentary This Is Love, John Alexander’s directorial debut feature film Bender has now sold to Pinewood Studios / High Fliers PLC in the UK, four years after the North American release by Screen Media Ventures. The studio has retitled the film as The Family for British audiences.

Synopsis:
The unsettling true story of America’s first serial killing family. A troubled doctor searches for patients swallowed by the prairie and encounters the Benders, homesteaders trapped by a life of unspeakable sin.

A boldly experimental interpretation of the true story of the Bloody Benders,
America’s first serial killing family, the film was produced by Casadelic Pictures
with Crook & Nanny Productions, and was shot on location in Kansas.

Featuring Oscar nominee Bruce Davison (X-Men), Linda Purl (The Office), Buck
Taylor (Gunsmoke), Leslie Woodies (Aladdin), Chance Caiden (MadTV), Nicole
Jellen (Age Gap), Reylynn Caster (American Housewife), Jon Monastero (FML),
and horror icon James Karen (Poltergeist), it won a Golden Strands Award for
Outstanding Ensemble Cast.

The British DVD release of The Family follows a steady genre festival run for
Bender, as well as sales in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the USA, where it is
streaming on Amazon.
